On the morning of September 4, an impressive convoy left Tbilisi for Kazbegi – 350 participants and 150 DEFENDERs. The expedition headed towards the Truso Valley, once again putting the vehicle’s character to the test. DEFENDER became a medium for discovery, giving people the chance to explore new places and experience adventure, no matter how challenging the terrain.
This year, GT Motors built the event around the idea of protecting heritage, bringing DEFENDER into the story of Georgia’s cultural heritage. The concept was developed by creative agency Mozaika. The project was designed not only around exploring difficult landscapes, but also around discovering the history hidden within these places.
The main inspiration for the adventure was the famous “Kazbegi Treasure”, discovered near Stepantsminda in 1877. The collection includes around 200 ancient artefacts, some of which were lost over time and spread beyond Georgia’s borders. These fragments of cultural memory became the starting point for GT Motors’ initiative.
The first day in the Truso Valley combined extreme off-roading with an introduction to local traditions and cuisine. Participants brewed traditional Mtiulian beer and prepared Khevsurian khinkali. After a day filled with mountain air and adventure, guests gathered in the courtyard of Rooms Hotel Kazbegi in the evening, sharing stories and local legends from the Kazbegi region.
The second day took on a more relaxed rhythm, focusing on the connection with nature. Outdoor yoga, sound therapy and an astrology workshop offered a new experience for regular guests of DEFENDER Community events. Some participants also explored Mount Elia on horseback, while the evening ended with a gala dinner.
Since 2008, GT Motors has been the official representative of JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) brands in Georgia. Defender Experience 2026 was held in partnership with SOLO and insurance company Aldagi. Alongside members of the DEFENDER Community created by the company, the event also welcomed representatives of Jaguar Land Rover’s regional office.
Driven by strong demand and positive feedback from customers, the event took place for the fourth time this year. The 2026 edition became a clear example of how GT Motors uses creative ideas and brand philosophy for a wider purpose – bringing Georgia’s cultural heritage back into focus and helping to protect it.
