Childhood is the purest reflection of the soul. Perhaps that is why the impressions we receive early in life remain the brightest, later transforming into creative energy that quietly shapes who we become. In that sense, I was no exception – I discovered Nani Bregvadze as a child.

I still remember the evening my grandmother took me to the Philharmonic Hall for a concert dedicated to Jansug Kakhidze. The night featured performances by Gogi Dolidze, Eka Mamaladze, and Nani herself – Nani, who instantly mesmerized me with her grace and refinement. It was never merely a beautiful performance. Something invisible and almost magical unfolded on stage that evening, quietly entering my consciousness and never truly leaving it.

Years later, after becoming Editor-in-Chief of Nargis Magazine, I could not shake the feeling that Nani Bregvadze simply had to appear on the magazine’s cover. It needed to happen at the right moment – grand, ceremonial, unforgettable – and so ! waited patiently for the perfect time. Meanwhile, the world iself seemed to conspire in favor of that dream. And now, in the twelfth year of our publication, on the occasion of Nani Bregvadze’s birthday, we have finally been given the opportunity to journey through the many layers of her remarkable inner world.

In a magazine where fashion and beauty occupy such a central place, Nani’s style feels especially significant. Her stage costumes were never merely garments; they seemed to perform alongside her, participating in something almost sacred, shaping the emotional dramaturgy of each performance. What began as an exclusive interview with Nani Bregvadze naturally evolved into a reflection on an entire era. I wanted to know everything. At a time when Western fashion and luxury fabrics were nearly inaccessible in Georgia, how did she manage to dress with the glamour of a Hollywood star? Where did she find her fabrics, and who brought these visionary ideas to life? In the new issue of Nargisi, Nani herself recounts this extraordinary journey – one that is, in many ways, a living history of art and style.

To our readers, we wish a radiant and joyful summer – one filled with inspiration and with the timeless values this issue proudly carries within its pages.
