After 20 years, model, singer, and TV host Tika Patsatsia has released a new song called “I Believe in Happiness.” The music premiere was on July 7 at Cavea City Mall, and the audience loved it. In this interview with N13, Tika talks about how the song was created- from the first idea to the final video.

What made you return to music after a 20-year break?
To be honest, I never really left music. I’ve always loved singing, and I have a band called Kai Tipebi with Archil Sologhishvili. But this new song, which was made with an orchestra and a music video, is something special. The main reason I made it was a song by Rusudan Morchiladze, written just for me.
We heard it took more than one year to finish the song. What were the steps?
The song is actually two years old. When I joined the project, we worked on it for about a year and a half. From the beginning, we knew it needed something special. First, we worked on the lyrics to make sure the message was clear. Then the song went to Nikoloz Rachveli, who worked with the Evgeni Mikeladze Orchestra to make it more powerful. Later, we recorded it in the studio. Finally, I thought a lot about who should make the music video.

You helped write the lyrics. Does the song show your personal story?
Yes, the lyrics came from my inspiration. I wanted the song to show what I learned in these 20 years- how I grew up, made my childhood dreams come true, and how I see the world today. It also shows what is most important to me.
In the video, we see the sea. Does it have a special meaning? Why did you choose this place?
The sea was Archil Sologhishvili’s idea. When he heard the song, he said he imagined the sea. The nature, the power, and the open space go perfectly with the music.

There is a little girl in the video, like your younger self. Whose idea was that, and what does it mean?
The little girl is my niece, Nina Patsatsia. This was my idea. I wanted to show visually how little Tika became the grown-up Tika. Nina is like me- we even have the same last name. She is hard-working and has big dreams. One day, during a family dinner, I realized she should be in the video. She is the key.

How did you feel when you first heard the finished song?
I felt very emotional and happy. When I went to the studio and saw so many musicians working together under NikolozRachveli’s direction, I was amazed. I had never felt something like this. I saw real art being made- and it was for my song. It was a dream to see an orchestra playing my music.

How was the premiere night? Did it meet your expectations?
The premiere was amazing. I didn’t really know what to expect because I was so focused on the project. I invited people I love, but I didn’t know how they would feel. But they all understood the message and felt happy. I saw tears of joy and nostalgia. I felt so much support and love. It was a very emotional and real night.
What feedback did you receive from people after the song came out?
People gave very kind and positive comments- both at the premiere and online. That made me feel I shared my message clearly.

What is the main message you want listeners to hear in your song?
I want to say that we all can create our own happy moments- if we believe in them. I’ve felt this way since I was a child. That’s why I can find happiness in everyday life. Some people may think that being happy means being famous or on stage. Of course, that’s nice too, but for me, real happiness is in small things. Everyone has those moments- we just need to notice them and believe.
