After 25 years of collaboration, we can say that the fashion world mourns Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Can you imagine Valentino without Piccioli?
It seems this decision was unexpected, as Valentino canceled the summer shows that were planned.
Now, the main question is – who can replace Piccioli? Several names are mentioned in the media, with the most likely candidate being Gucci’s former creative director, Alessandro Michele. However, Michele has yet to comment on the circulating information.
“The creative approach will continue to be the main driving force of the brand. Valentino is forming its future collections for both women’s and men’s clothing lines, as well as in haute couture. We are working to further develop the brand’s DNA, following its iconic codes and heritage,”
according to Valentino’s statement. They also noted that a new creative director will be announced in the near future.
