For almost a year, the daily life of N13 Editor-in-Chief Tako Chkheidze has followed a completely new rhythm. Today, her life is divided between two cities – Tbilisi and Prague. Constant travel and the chance to experience two very different cultures have become a new source of inspiration. In this interview, Tako shares her experience and talks about the places, atmosphere, and beauty that make the Czech capital truly unique.<\/p>\n

\nTako, you have been living in Prague for almost a year. How has this new chapter changed your daily life?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Living in Prague has been a completely new experience for me. My husband is the Georgian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, so naturally, my daily life has changed a lot. Today, my world brings together fashion, culture, and diplomacy.<\/p>\n

\nBeing the wife of a diplomat comes with great responsibility. I often attend national receptions, official dinners, and cultural events where I meet people from many different countries. During these conversations, I am often asked about Georgia. People are curious about our culture, traditions, wine, cuisine, fashion, and modern lifestyle. It is always both an honour and a responsibility because I have the opportunity to represent my country and share the values that make Georgia so special.<\/p>\n

\nWhat was your first impression of Prague, and what do you find most attractive about the city?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I have lived in Prague for less than a year, so I am still discovering it. It is a city that surprises you every single day. I love walking through its streets because every time I find a new place, a new story, or a beautiful detail. Prague never feels the same twice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The more I get to know the city, the more I understand its unique character. Its elegance, architecture, culture, and mysterious atmosphere make it unforgettable. It feels as if every street, every building, and every courtyard has its own story to tell.<\/p>\n

\nWhich places would you recommend to visitors interested in art, architecture, and nature?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Prague is a city that should be explored slowly. One place everyone should visit is St. Vitus Cathedral. It is one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture. Its interior, stained-glass windows, and peaceful atmosphere leave a lasting impression. If you enjoy the work of Franz Kafka, I also recommend visiting his house and museum. After seeing these places, you will read his books with a completely different perspective.<\/p>\n

\nFor art lovers, I would suggest the Mucha Museum. Alfons Mucha’s work has always been a great source of inspiration for me. I also enjoy the National Museum, which is not only architecturally beautiful but also has fascinating collections of flora and fauna.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

One of my favourite places is Vojan Gardens, a peaceful green park near a monastery where peacocks walk freely. I love sitting there and enjoying nature. For me, it is a form of therapy. During the summer, I also recommend taking a boat ride on the Vltava River through the canals known as “Little Venice.” From the water, Prague looks completely different and incredibly romantic.<\/p>\n

\nWhen it comes to Prague’s food scene, where can visitors find the city’s true atmosphere and authentic flavours?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If you love seafood, I highly recommend Les Moules, located on Pa\u0159\u00ed\u017esk\u00e1 Street. It is one of Prague’s most elegant streets, home to many of the world’s leading luxury boutiques. It is the perfect place for a relaxed dinner in a beautiful setting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If you want to experience traditional Czech cuisine and taste authentic Czech beer, you should visit Strahov Monastery. Its historic brewery still produces beer using traditional methods, and the restaurant serves classic Czech dishes. I believe it is one of the best ways to experience Czech culture.<\/p>\n

\nPrague is famous for its historic caf\u00e9s. Which ones are your favourites, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

My favourite caf\u00e9s are Caf\u00e9 Louvre and Caf\u00e9 Savoy. They are much more than caf\u00e9s. They are an important part of Prague’s cultural history. Writers, philosophers, artists, and public figures once gathered there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I always enjoy having coffee in these places because you can truly feel the spirit of history. I also admire how carefully Czech people preserve their cultural heritage. Every historic place has its own story, and those stories are still alive today. That is one of the reasons I enjoy spending time there.<\/p>\n

\nFinally, what place does Prague hold in your heart today?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Prague is no longer just the city where I live. It is a place that gives me something new to discover every day. The more time I spend here, the more I realise that its greatest beauty lies in its history, culture, and the mysterious atmosphere that can be felt everywhere.<\/p>\n

\nI truly believe Prague is one of those rare cities that you can never fully discover. Every walk feels like the beginning of a new story, and perhaps that is exactly why I have fallen so deeply in love with this city.<\/p>\n
